from 20 minutesThe master frees the side fold: carefully removes the ingrown edge of the nail and treats the skin around it. The pain usually goes away immediately or within the first few days. It can be done on its own or together with a pedicure.
Titanium thread
A thin, springy titanium-alloy thread fixed to the nail. It gradually straightens the nail plate and reduces the pressure of the edge on the skin, so the nail stops growing in again. The thread is almost invisible and you can wear normal shoes with it; the master will tell you how long to keep it based on the state of the nail.
Tamponade
A special protective material is placed under the edge of the nail. It separates the nail from the side fold, relieves pressure and pain and helps the nail grow over the skin rather than into it. It’s often the first step when the ingrowth has only just started.

Why a nail becomes ingrown
Most often it’s the big toe. The causes are usually everyday ones: the nail is cut too short or the corners are rounded off, shoes are too narrow, the nail is naturally very curved, or there was an injury. The edge of the nail presses into the side fold, and the skin turns red, swells and hurts when you walk.
When you need a doctor, not a salon
We are not a medical centre. If the toe is badly swollen, there is pus, a fever, severe pain at rest, overgrown tissue by the nail, or you have diabetes with reduced sensation in the feet — see a surgeon or podiatrist first. If the master sees during the visit that the procedure could do harm right now, they will say so honestly and advise whom to see.
How to keep it from happening again
- trim toenails straight across, without cutting the corners and not too short;
- choose shoes that give your toes room;
- don’t cut out an ingrown corner yourself — it grows in deeper;
- have regular pedicures: the master will notice in time when the edge starts pressing into the skin.

How much does ingrown nail removal cost at Hide?
Ingrown nail removal costs from 50 000 to 200 000 UZS depending on complexity. A titanium thread with fitting is 150 000 UZS, a tamponade 50 000 UZS added to a manicure or pedicure.
Does it hurt?
The master works carefully and without sudden movements; most often the procedure is unpleasant but bearable, and relief comes right after it. If the toe is already badly inflamed, it’s better to see a doctor first.
Can it be combined with a pedicure?
Yes, it’s even more convenient: the master treats the feet and nails and deals with the problem nail right away. Mention the ingrown nail when booking so we can allow time for it.
Will the nail grow in again?
It can, if the cause remains: narrow shoes, the wrong way of cutting, a very curved nail plate. That’s why the master will show you how to cut your nails and, for a curved plate, suggest a titanium thread that gradually straightens it.
